I’ve just watched the Kirin Challenge Cup at the Nissan stadium in Yokohama. Thanks to my friends at Kirin who have been using my song Passion for 10 years, they kindly provided me with fantastic seats to the game. When I arrived at the stadium all parking was full and I was forced to pull a Nick Wood blag, this entailed singing my song to the man in charge of VIP parking and asking for a space, after a few minutes of charming him, he called Kirin and they provided a parking pass. Thanks Kirin and well done Japan.

We have just finished a great Street Session with Martina Topley Bird (Tricky, Massive Attack, etc.) shot whilst she was in town for Fuji Rock. Martina performed a ukulele version of her song Baby Blue walking down Roppongi dori. Check out the video here!

Veuve clicquot event with Tamiko Hayashi

The most recent episode of Veuve Clicquot‘s WOMEN OF INFLUENCE featured the social concierge, Tamiko Hayashi. Tamiko is an innovative woman who runs “Hybrid Shopping”, the cutting-edge business that cleverly connects fashion and charity.
The show, which will be on air on FOX from October 1st, was shot at Portuguese restaurant, “Perola Atlantica” in Omotesando.
今回のVeuve Clicquot、WOMEN OF INFLUENCEはソーシャル・コンシェルジュの林民子さん。
ファッションと社会貢献を結びつけ、「ハイブリッド・ショッピング」という画期的で斬新なビジネスを展開するイノベイティヴな女性です。撮影は表参道にあるポルトガル料理「Perola Atlantica」で行われました。

Trip to Aomori

I was recently traveling in Aomori, northern Japan and bought the most wonderful local Uni or Sea Urchin with a bottle of Dom Ruinhart 1996 Champagne. All I can say is that the stuff we eat in regular sushi bars around Tsukiji fish market is a different story and taste. This was just amazing!
最近の休暇を利用して行った青森で今までで最高のウニを食べました。Dom Ruinhard 1996のシャンパンとの相性が素晴らしかったです。
築地市場の辺りの普通の寿司屋で食べるウニとは比べ物にならない味わいでした。とにかく、本当においしかった！

The latest Street Session for Hennessy artistry went live today. Featuring Japanese/American artist, Caroline the live St. session was shot in Inokashira Park and also features her husband Rory on guitar and J-Pop star, Olivia (who incidentally is Caroline’s sister) on backing vocals. The cicadas provide a great summer chorus sound.
本日から公開の『Hennessy artistry』セッションは、ニューヨークの人気レーベル、Temporary Residence＜テンポラリー・レジデンス＞の歌姫、Caroline＜キャロライン＞によるStreet Session＜ストリート・セッション＞。
彼女の夫ローリー・バリスがギター,彼女の実の姉で歌手のOLIVIA＜オリビア＞がバックコーラスを担当。
蝉の鳴き声が夏の雰囲気を心地よく演出しています。

Following on from the launch event of Hennessy Artistry at Club Unit in April, we shot a St. Session with Caroline, Olivia and Rory Vallis yesterday on the lake at Inogashira Park. They actually sang live, this is no promo video but a unique concept from Syn which is “one song, one take” and a totally live performance, even the video is shot with one camera and no editing so you really get to experience the ” mixed” performance of the music with the location. Caroline’s video will go live on the Hennessy site on August 6th. In the meantime check out the other artists we’ve shot including Her Space Holiday, Placebo and more.
今年の４月にクラブUNIT(ユニット)で行われたHennessy Artistryの立ち上げイベントに続いて、昨日は、井の頭公園の池でストリートセッションをキャロライン、オリビア、ローリー・バリスさんと行いました。驚いたことに、彼らは、ライブで演奏してくれました。
これは、プロモーションビデオではなく、一曲のみ、ワンテイクといった内容で演奏して頂き、さらに一台のカメラ、編集なしといったユニークなコンセプトで臨場感あふれる本物のライブ体験でした。
キャロラインさんのビデオは、ヘネシーのサイトで８月６日にアップされます。それまでの間、僕らが撮影したアーティスト、HER SPACE HOLIDAY (ハー・スペース・ホリデイ)、Placebo（プラシーボ）さらにその他のアーティストもチェックしてくださいね。

Tokyo Concours d’Elegance 2010 produced by Paul Goldsmith took place last weekend July 24&25 during a very hot weekend. On. Display were some amazing classic cars including this incredible Toyota, one of my favorite Japanese cars ever!
先週末２４、２５日は、真夏日の中、ポール・ゴールドスミス氏によってプロデュースのイベント『東京コンクール・デレガンス 2010』が開催されました。
会場には驚く程沢山の素敵なクラシックな車がありました。その中には、日本車で私の一番好きな車『トヨタ』の姿もありました。
