For G-star’s 20th anniversary, they have produced a temporary pop up store called Raw 20 in Harajuku, very close to H&M and Forver 21 on Meiji Dori. The store will open today October 30th – November 3rd from 12:00 – 20:00. The store sells limited edition 20/20 clothes specifically designed and exclusive to this shop and the prices are incredibly cheap and all money goes to charity. There are DJ’s performing each day starting with Brian Burton Lewis today from 17:30
G-STAR20周年を記念して、明治通り沿いのH＆MとForever 21のすぐ近くにRaw 20という期間限定ショップ、ポップ・アップ・ストアができた。オープン初日の今日、10月30日から11月3日まで12:00から20:00までの営業。この為に特別にデザインされた20/20の限定商品（驚きの安さ！）の収益は全てチャリティーに寄付されることになっている。期間中、毎日DJのパフォーマンスがあって、今日は17:30からBrian Burton Lewisが登場！

anniversary party at Le Baron this evening called “Raw Nights Gold”
produced by Syn.
Raw Nights Gold promises to be a fantastic party, curated by my very
dear friend Satoh-san, the legendary taste maker, who in 1989 opened
club GOLD in Shibaura…incidently the same year that G-Star was
founded by Jos Van Tilberg in Amsterdam. To celebrate 20 years of G-
Star, I asked Satoh-San to gather 20 icons from the GOLD era who have
helped shape and inspire popular culture in Tokyo today.

My favorite city for dinner with friends has to be Kyoto and my favorite restaurant is Gion Maruyama. Celebrating Marc Newson‘s birthday in Japan has become a bit of a tradition, so I wanted to take him to this special place. The food Maruyama prepares without doubt make this one of the best restaurants ever, and being friends with the owner chef means we get to sit and listen to this passionate artists about all kinds of things.
私が特別な友人達と食事をするなら京都、なかでも祇園にある丸山さんがとても気に入っています。だからこそ日本でのお祝いが定番となってきている友人マーク・ニューソンの誕生日には、この特別な場所へ招待したいと思っていました。オーナー・シェフの丸山さんがおもてなし下さる最高のお料理は、ここが最高のレストランであることを物語っています。更に丸山さんとは友人でもあるので、席について情熱的なアーティストのお話しをいろいろとお伺いすることができます。

Red Bull Box Car Race

Red Bull Box Car Race in Odaiba was fun on Sunday, the weather was perfect and it was nice to see something a bit different taking place within the city, it would be good if the Tokyo Government and Police encouraged more brand driven events and activities on the streets of Tokyo that the tax payers have covered. Maybe one day they will let Yoyogi park go back to hosting the sunday street music activities, it was such a pity that the police suddenly banned that.
日曜日にお台場で開かれたレッドブル・ボックス・カー・レースに遊びに行ってきました。天気も良好でいつもとはちょっと違う週末を味わってきました。都も警視庁もこういったブランド・イベントをもっと積極的にやっていけば納税者も自分が払っている税金がかたちになるところを目の当たりにできるのにね。代々木公園で良くやってた日曜日イベントも復活したらいいんだけど・・・未だに禁止された理由が分からないよ。
Tokyo Olympic Bid Music

I know it’s old news that Tokyo lost the bid for the 2016 Olympics, but it’s probably news to you that I wrote 2 pieces of music for the campaign. It’s a pity Tokyo lost as I worked really hard for 6 weeks composing and recording close to 7 minutes of music for the films that were presented to the IOC. The highlight of the production for me was recording strings, brass and woodwinds with my long time friend and collaborator Todd Hayen who I brought over from Hollywood to conduct and orchestrate the music. We recorded 25 musicians in total, which for me was a real treat. I plan to release the music in the future so people can listen to what I composed, I will also be posting a behind the scenes film on the recording and production process sometime in the near future.
２０１６年夏のオリンピックに立候補した東京が落選したのはもう古いニュースではありますが、僕がそのプレゼンテーションの音楽を作曲したことは新しいニュースではないでしょうか。落選して本当に残念でしたー６週間も作曲とレコーディングに没頭していたからね。その音楽プロダクションと見所といえば、ハリウッドから呼び寄せた指揮者である親友のトッド・ヘイエン、そして２５人ものミュージシャンを迎えてストリングス、ブラス、ウッドウィンドを録音したこと。みなさんにも僕の作った曲を是非とも聴いて欲しいと思うので、いずれこの作品はリリースしようと思います。録音現場を描写したメイキングビデオも公開するので、乞うご期待！

Summer has finally come to an end, but I’m happy I could enjoy one last BBQ outside with a bottle of Rose wine.
今夏もとうとう終わってしまったが、最後のBBQをロゼのボトルで飾れてよかったです。
